Sypnopsis

This large general contractor with multiple locations was seeking to move its infrastructure to a colocation. They needed the most dependable internet connections and wanted advice on improving network security. In addition, they required rapid deployment of reliable Internet service, phones and copiers at new construction site whenever needed.

Challenge

Two of their offices and both warehouses are in remote areas that have limited Internet options. Their warehouses are so large they needed to expand the reception throughout the buildings while maintaining a secure connection. They needed security cameras and access controls on doors to protect inventory from theft. Most importantly, Internet costs for these locations were exorbitant, however the sites needed robust bandwidth to operate optimally.

Solution

This opportunity had many layers. My Resource Partners’ consultants first provided options for colocations where the network infrastructure could be moved. Once a location was selected, we negotiated an incredible deal for secure point-to-multipoint Internet service. Next, we procured diverse fiber connections at the colocation and added both managed routers and SD-WAN services for security. The point-to-multipoint Internet connectivity allowed each site to receive its Internet from the colocation. This complex networking solution saved the company excess of $30,000 dollars over the term. We also introduced them to a national cabling and network installer that installed extenders throughout their warehouses to enhance the service throughout the buildings. Lastly, we connected them with a security and surveillance company that created an innovative plan to minimize the number of cameras and keep security costs within reason.
